Sandpit at Holland Park

10 July 2012

Join in the fun for an afternoon of games designed by artists, musicians and writers for `Sandpit' on the Orangery Lawn at Holland Park this Sunday 15 July, from 2pm to 5.30pm.

The family-friendly event is free and the games are all about spectacle and movement, so expect processions, performance, frantic bolting-about for the energetic, thinking games for the cerebral and walking games for the more sedate.

The streets and public spaces of Kensington and Chelsea will provide the backdrop for a fortnight of interactive arts, drama and music during the sixth InTRANSIT Festival of Arts (13 to 27 July).

Organised by the Council this year's festival reflects the Olympic spirit with many of the events combining artistic creativity with physical activity such as biking and walking and parkour running.

Some of the highlights of the festival will be a Portobello Arts Day, the Big Dance Bus on the King's Road and an amazing large-scale three dimensional illusionistic street painting at Portobello Square by the internationally renowned street artist Edgar Mueller.
