Primary school sports stars

28 November 2012

Pupils from 12 of the borough's primary schools took part in a fantastic day of sport on Wednesday 21 November.

Westway provided the perfect setting for the event with over 600 local primary school competitors taking part in the Olympic-style multi-sport festival. School teams had the opportunity to compete in six sports: mini-basketball, mixed football, Boccia, tag-rugby, hockey and tri-golf.

The day even had its very own opening ceremony which included a group dance performance and an athletes' parade with the schools displaying their banners.

Young leaders from Chelsea Academy and Sion-Manning RC Girl's School provided support for the event, helping to officiate and organise the sports competitions.

After a busy, action packed, day of competitive sport congratulations are in order for the following teams that were crowned Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea Primary School Champions for 2012.
