Council website given thumbs up

11 December 2012

GovMetric, the customer feedback benchmarker, has judged the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea's website to be the Council Website of the Year following positive feedback from residents and users of the site.

Visitors have been able to rate all online services by using GovMetric to click on green, amber or red smiley faces. Throughout 2012 www.rbkc.gov.uk consistently received the highest web satisfaction rating of all subscribed UK councils.

GovMetric has been a very useful tool for the Council since it began using the rating system in 2010. As well as clicking a smiley to rate a page, users can also add comments.

Careful monitoring of this feedback helps officers understand how people are using the website.

Cllr Warwick Lightfoot, Cabinet Member for IT, said: "I am very pleased that our website has been judged to be the best of the year. More and more people are using our web pages to access, or find out about, Council services. So it's vitally important that it does its job well."

The website has an average of 200,000 unique users a month.
