Parking matters

The issue of parking enforcement is an emotive topic, never far from the top of the political agenda. But enforcement is necessary for keeping London moving and also provides the Council with revenue to carry out road safety and environmental improvements.

Licensing update

New licensing laws have now come into force and the Council has been busy processing applications. Read on for an explanation of how the Council has been doing everything within its powers to safeguard the rights of residents and in one instance even closed a pub that refused to comply with the law.

Aiming for the top

The Council has recently redefined its aims. The new aims, known as the three Rs of Responding to residents, Really good services and Renewing the legacy describe an authority that is working hard to create a ‘better city life’.

Britain in Bloom

Britain in Bloom is a campaign, organised by the Royal Horticultural Society. It encourages communities of all sizes to make positive and lasting improvements to their local areas for the benefit of local people. The borough is back in the finals again this year and the Council is calling on local people and businesses to get behind the campaign.
