Who is it for?
The New Deal is for young people aged 18 to 24 who have been
claiming Jobseeker's Allowance for six months or more (including
those getting NI credits only). Some people can join New Deal
sooner - ask your Job Centre.
What is it?
The New Deal helps unemployed people into work by closing the
gap between the skills employers want and the skills people can
offer.
It gives you the chance to work and get new skills and/or work
experience in the voluntary and environmental sectors, and is a
great opportunity to get off benefits and into work.
