“I feel like a responsible person now and people treat me like a more responsible person, too.”  Monique, 14, W3

What are Peer Tutors?

Peer Tutors are young people between the ages of 10 and 19 who help their peers (other people their age) to understand and have fun while learning.

“I’m proud to be a good role model for children to look up to and be able to lead a good example to them.” – Annie, 15, W2

What do Peer Tutors do?

In 2007 and 2008, Peer Tutors were important members of the Council’s Summer Uni 4 U team. They supported course tutors and those participating in week-long summer courses which covered everything from building computers and massage techniques, to cookery and digital media.

This year, in addition to recruiting Peer Tutors for Summer Uni 4U 2009, we’re also working on expanding the Peer Tutor Programme beyond the summer months.
