What is Break 4 U?
Break 4 U is a great place to talk about any worries you have
about your children. Everyone is going through the same thing, so
we can all give each other advice.
Emily, 20
A weekly meeting place for young mothers and mothers-to-be aged
between 13 and 25 to meet, learn new skills and gain qualifications
- and also to have a break from their little one and have some fun!
A crèche and lunch are provided.
What kind of activities are there?
I have learnt so much from the sessions. I loved learning
how to cook and have definitely got more confident.
Break 4 U provides activities such as:
- baby massages
- parenting skills
- castings of your baby’s hand or your pregnant belly
- photography
- first aid courses
- self image and confidence workshops
- advice and help with finance, budgeting and debt
- personal development
- pampering for Mum (massages, nails, hair and make-up)
- creating the Break 4 U magazine
- and much much more!
Break 4 U is a great opportunity to get a qualification as I
didn’t get any GCSEs in school and I get to have fun whilst I’m
achieving.
Laura, 21
What will I get out of it?
I don’t have anyone to baby-sit so I
look forward to the sessions so I can have some time off from my
daughter. She has so much fun in the crèche and I enjoy the
space.
Honey, 16
Just by coming to the sessions you will be working towards your
Duke of Edinburgh Award and Youth Achievement Award.
You will learn lots of skills and have lots of fun! You will
also get a break by putting your child in the crèche and they will
benefit from interacting with the other children.
There are also Connexions Personal Advisers available to help
you get into education, employment and training.
When does Break 4 U meet?
There are separate programmes in the Royal Borough of Kensington
and in Chelsea each week. Each programme runs over eight weeks on
the following days:
