We are looking for Youth Representatives aged between 13 and 19 (up to 25 for young people with learning difficulties or disabilities), who want to help make a difference for young people in Kensington and Chelsea.

What is it all about?

As a Youth Rep, you will:

  • encourage young people to speak up about youth issues
  • help to consult young people about changes in the borough’s services
  • attend monthly youth forum meetings to represent your project, club or school
  • play a part in developing services in Kensington and Chelsea for young people.

What skills will you need?

  • An interest in speaking to other young people about youth issues and the services that they receive, including the activities that are available to them in their local area.
  • A willingness to give up your time (minimum one meeting per month).
  • Confidence to speak in public (training will be given for this).
  • A willingness to take the initiative and network in the local community.

What training and support will you get?

In exchange, you’ll have lots of fun and be part of a great team. More importantly, you will inspire a new generation to make a positive contribution to their local area and community.

  • You will be part of a group of young people in Kensington and Chelsea who will meet monthly to discuss youth issues and ensure that young people’s voices are heard at a decision-making level.
  • You will receive training throughout the year and all your travel expenses will be paid.
  • You will take part in a youth leadership programme that will be accredited.
  • All Youth Reps will be invited to attend a weekend residential in February or March as part of their induction.
