With the City of London Sinfonia and
the Opera Holland Park Chorus
With a brilliant creative team and cast, this new production of
Tchaikovsky’s atmospheric and beautiful ‘lyrical scenes’ is an
enticing prospect.
A young dandy, dulled by pleasure and excess, lives to regret his
blasé rejection of the love of a young woman, and his callous
treatment of his best friend has tragic consequences. OHP’s new
production features the stunning soprano Anna Leese (L’amico
Fritz, 2011) alongside Mark Stone (Forza del destino,
2010) and is conducted by the eminent Russian conductor Alexander
Polianichko, making his OHP debut. This promises to be one of
operatic highlights of the year in London.
