Summer Screening Weekend
Friday 19 August          Some Like It Hot
Saturday 20 August      First Night (Special Gala Screening)
Sunday 21 August        Cinema Paradiso

As the sun sets on the Opera Holland Park season, there's one last chance to savour some canopied culture on a balmy summer evening at our weekend of film screenings with a twist. Experience specially selected cinema classics anew, in our unique alfresco setting, enhanced by additional surprises inspired by each film.

On Friday we celebrate vintage comedy with Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis in the toe-tapping, cross-dressing hit, Some Like It Hot. On Saturday we experience a special gala screening of new film, First Night from the highly acclaimed, Oscar-nominated producer Stephen Evans and BAFTA award-winning director Chris Menual. This is a perfect summer comedy, featuring wine, women and song. Starring Richard E. Grant, Sarah Brightman and Mia Maestro, this is a movie which fuses the stately grandeur of Gosford Park, with the magical music of Amadeus for a unique story of love's fluctuating fortunes. On Sunday, Giuseppe Tornatore's romantic gem Cinema Paradiso provides a fittingly nostalgic conclusion to the weekend.
