To the World’s End and back!

Corus Fresh FlowerIn October 2009 Opera Holland Park held three free recitals for members of the public at the World’s End Estate, Chelsea.
The recitals formed part of a programme of free events hosted under the Corus Fresh Flower, a hugh unique outdoor performance space donated by Corus, Europe's second largest steel producer. Part of the RBKC Across the Street, Around the World festival, the diverse range of events included performance poetry, live literature, theatre, opera and music, with something for people of all ages.


Many passers by and residents of the World’s End Estate enjoyed one of the free recitals and were treated to performances from some of the country’s leading artists. Singing popular arias and well known songs the performers involved included:

Julian Gavin, singing Nessun Dorma, Puccini
Hye-Youn Lee, singing Quando m'en vo, Puccini
Tom Randle, singing Maria from West Side Story
Hannah Pedley, singing Seguidilla from Carmen, Bizet
Nicola Stonehouse & Katherine Allen singing Flower Duet from Lakme, Delibes
John Lofthouse singing Largo al Factotum, Rossini
