Vanessa Walters – Young reporters take no prisoners for Between the Lines

Half term challenge week and together with photographer Adrian Wood, I am running a photography and journalism workshop in Golbourne Youth Centre. We are teaching 10 9 –13 year olds how to use digital cameras and how to tell story with both photographs and words.

From poetry to hard hitting expose, these intrepid young reporters take no prisoners as they hit the streets of Westbourne Park (under close supervision) to photograph their topics of interest, which range from recycling to the area’s alien presence. Visiting guests include a BBC journalist fresh from working with young girls in Uganda and a magazine photographer who’s work has been used internationally.
