Profile

The Voluntary Organisations Forum is a borough wide network of community based organisations coordinated by the Kensington and Chelsea Social Council.

The aim of the Forum is to bring voluntary and community groups in Kensington and Chelsea together to work on issues of mutual interest.

The objectives of the Voluntary Organisations Forum are:

  • to share information on local and national developments of interest to voluntary and community groups, including new funding opportunities
  • to elect people to represent the voluntary sector in discussions with the Council and other statutory agencies and to partnership boards
  • to establish sub-groups, sub-committees and forums for organisations working with specific client groups and on particular issues
  • to act as the community network for Kensington and Chelsea in relation to the Local Strategic Partnership

Membership of the Voluntary Organisations Forum is open to any voluntary organisation or community group based in or operating in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. There is no membership fee.

Individual people living or working in the Borough are welcome to attend meetings and to speak but not to vote. Membership is not open to statutory organisations, although people working for statutory organisations may be invited to make presentations to the Forum from time to time.

In addition to the main Voluntary Organisations Forum, the following specialist forums are currently in existence:

  • Children and Families Voluntary Organisations Forum
  • Older Persons Voluntary Organisations Forum
  • Engaging Communities Voluntary Organisations Forum

If you would like to get involved in the Voluntary Organisations Forum, to receive regular information about future meetings and events, contact Kensington and Chelsea Social Council at: http://www.kcsc.org.uk/.
