Best Bar None 2014
This year's Best Bar None winner is Bodo's Schloss on Kensington High Street. The Austrian themed bar was presented with the 'Overall Winner' for 2014 at last night's (Wednesday 12 November) Awards Ceremony at a packed Royal Garden Hotel, Kensington.
Beating off stiff competition to the overall title, in what continues to be one of the largest Best Bar None competitions in the country, it was also named 'Best Nightclub/Bar'. Bodo's Schloss took part for the first time last year finishing as runners-up in the Nightclub category.
Councillor Tim Ahern, Cabinet Member for Environment, said: "Firstly I would like to say congratulations to Bodo's Schloss on its victory, particularly impressive as it is only its second year in the competition.
The Council and Diageo UK have worked hard with licensed premises across the borough to make Kensington and Chelsea's Best Bar None scheme amongst the best in the country and I would like to thank all those who took part this year.
It's important for businesses to show their commitment to high standards and accreditation through Best Bar None is an excellent demonstration of this."
Also at the awards was Mark Baird, Head of Alcohol in Society for Diageo, who added "We are delighted to continue our long relationship with the Royal Borough's Best Bar None scheme and send our congratulations to Bodo's Schloss and all the other winners who are a credit to our industry."
A further 36 pubs, bars and clubs across the borough gained membership of the scheme, with the category winners as follows:
- Winner - O'Neills, Earl's Court Road
- 1st Runner up - Builders Arms, Kensington Court Place
- 2nd Runner up - The Hour Glass, Brompton Road
- Winner - Bodo's Schloss, Kensington High Street
