Why recycle light bulbs?
Glass and metal in old light bulbs can be recycled and used in other products.
To be recycled, light bulbs need to be intact. If you have broken or smashed light bulbs, wrap them carefully in newspaper and put them in your usual bin.
Where to recycle light bulbs
The Council doesn't recycle light bulbs so don't put them in the recycling bag or mixed recycling bank.
You can recycle lightbulbs at:
- the Reuse and Recycling Centre at Smuggler's Way, Wandsworth SW18 1EG. Find out more at Western Riverside Waste Authorities
- any Ryness Electrical store
Energy-saving light bulbs are more efficient and last much longer than normal light bulbs.
