Whilst Chelsea Old Town Hall undergoes an essential refurbishment from 20 August 2018 until late Spring 2019, we’re delighted to offer the majestic Mayor’s Parlour at Kensington Town Hall to accommodate your ceremony during this period. The Mayor’s Parlour is a wonderfully decorated ceremony room offering a unique but classic setting for your special day. This spacious room is located on the first floor of the Civic Reception Area of Kensington Town Hall and is able to seat parties of up to 70 people (the couple and up to 68 guests). It is available only on Fridays and Saturdays, excluding public holidays.

One of the advantages of choosing The Mayor’s Parlour at Kensington Town Hall is that you can personalise your ceremony with readings and music.

A ceremony in The Mayor’s Parlour enables you and your partner to be interviewed separately by the Registrar (a legal requirement) prior to the ceremony. This means that the first time you see each other will be when you stand side by side to take your vows thus maintaining an important tradition.

The costs of a ceremony in The Mayor’s Parlour (this includes the ceremony and registrars) are as follows:

The non-refundable booking fee is payable when you book the date of your ceremony. The fee for the attendance of the Registrars at your ceremony must be paid no later than four weeks before the ceremony. The attendance fee is the fee for your ceremony in that room or venue, so includes the service itself, and the two registrars required by law to be in attendance to conduct and register your ceremony. It does not include marriage certificates which are £4 each (prior to your ceremony) or £10 each (after your ceremony). Certificates can be paid for at £4 when you pay your ceremony attendance fee.
