  • Small Business Rate Relief

    The Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR), was introduced from 1 April 2005 to help small businesses.

  • Empty properties

    With effect from 1 April 2008 empty properties will be exempt from business rates for the first three months they are empty

  • Mandatory and Discretionary Rate Relief

    Registered charities are entitled to charitable rate relief (also known as mandatory rate relief) where the property they occupy is used wholly or mainly for charitable purposes. Registered charities and not for profit organisations may also be eligible to apply for Discretionary Rate Relief if they meet the criteria.
