Procurement rules

The Council has to comply with government legislation and its own internal rules, as set out in the Constitution (the Contract Regulations).

The Council has a duty to demonstrate that it is achieving value for money for its Council-tax payers and that in awarding contracts it has undertaken the procurement in an open, transparent and non-discriminatory way. These documents provide a framework for carrying out tendering exercises.
