What is Scrutiny?

Scrutiny is a Councillor-led statutory function within the Council. It is responsible for holding decision-makers to account on behalf of borough residents and helping to develop policies and initiatives that make the borough a better place to live and work. The usual focus of Scrutiny is to improve services, whether these are Council services or provided by the local NHS, police, utility companies and transport providers, amongst others.

Please note, Scrutiny does not deal with individual complaints.
