A Taste for Perfection by Abigail Jones
|A Taste for Perfection is an autobiographical series of dated, text-driven paintings. Initiated two years ago, it now comprises over two hundred works on paper. Inspired by Charlotte Salomon's daringly prolific Leben? Oder Theater?, Jones's visual diary provides a habitual platform through which the artist responds both to mundane personal events and to the social and legislative forces that seep into daily life, directing us all with varying degrees of subtlety and violence.|
