Sparks Fly - Circus and Science Festival

Kensington Town Square (between the Central Library and the Town Hall) Hornton Street, Kensington, London W8 7NX

During October Half-term the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea are presenting science engagement activities and circus shows outside on Kensington Town Square on the dates below. Activities are free and suitable for all ages. No pre-booking required.

Tuesday 22 October 12pm and 5pm Shows and Activities

Science shows in marquees from the Science Museum and Ian Dunne. Hands-on science workshops from Imperial College, the Science Museum and Explorer Dome. Outdoor circus presentations from The Fairly Famous Family.

Wednesday 23 October 6pm and 7pm Heliosphere Show (Show length 15 mins)

Dream Engine present Heliosphere - a show performed to music which is both aerobatic and interactive to create the illusion of flying. Spiralling and spinning and seemly weightless, an acrobat suspended beneath a huge helium balloon explores the uncharted space between street level and rooftops. Outdoors and without seating.

Sunday 27 October 12pm to 5pm Shows and Activities

Circus shows in marquees from Amir and Hemda (suitable for ages 8 years and over) and The Inverted Company (suitable for ages 5 years and over). Science shows in marquees from Ian Dunne. Pop-up Planetarium presentations from Explorer Dome. Outdoor circus workshops and indoor circus craft sessions.

Kensington Town Square is a flat surface. Accessible toilets are available on site.
