The property will be inspected before the licence is granted to ensure that licensing conditions are being met, as well as allowing us to check details given during the application process. If your application is successful it does not mean that your property meets the necessary housing standards enforced by the Council.
A further inspection will be carried before the licence expires to ensure it is free of any serious hazards under the Housing Health and Rating System (HHSRS). If it is not, you may be required to carry out additional works.
It is your responsibility to ensure your property complies with the Housing Act 2004 and the Councils standards for HMOs.
