Chelsea Academy - Autism Inclusion Base (Kensington and Chelsea)

The Flourish Centre at Chelsea Academy, Lots Road, London SW10 0AB, is a specialist autism resource provision for young people aged 11-18 with an EHCP and a primary need of Autism.

The provision offers a highly personalised curriculum tailored to individual strengths, needs and aspirations. Teaching focuses on core academic subjects alongside the development of communication, independence, emotional regulation and wider life skills. Students benefit from adaptive teaching approaches, individualised assessment and targeted support designed to help them access learning successfully and develop confidence in preparation for adulthood.

Students have access to a range of specialist facilities, including a sensory room, fitness suite, garden area and kitchen area, which support sensory regulation, physical wellbeing, independent living skills and practical learning. The provision also provides opportunities for learning beyond the classroom through community visits, educational trips and real-world experiences, including visits to local organisations and businesses. Regular mindfulness walks and community-based activities help students develop road safety awareness, personal safety skills and confidence in becoming active and independent members of their community.

The provision is supported by Chelsea Academy's experienced Inclusion Team and specialist staff who work closely with families and a range of external professionals, including speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, educational psychologists and mental health services. Students also have access to counselling, mentoring, therapeutic support and wider school opportunities, enabling them to benefit from both specialist provision and participation in the life of the wider school community.
