I have worked as a childminder for 20yrs. I have also worked as a childminding support worker for two years, having previously worked in group care settings. I have three children of my own, and a small dog, a rabbit and fish complete the family. I hold a current First Aid Certificate and have completed the Level 3 Certificate in Childminding Practice (ICP, DCP and ECP). I continue to update my qualifications by attending courses and workshops.
All of the ground floor of my home is dedicated space for the children in my care, including a safe, enclosed garden. My house is across the road from a park with a playground and drop in. There is a wide assortment of toys and equipment that cover all ages. I am happy to provide meals in accordance with parent’s wishes, and follow parent’s requests with regards to feeding babies and toddlers.
I aim to provide a happy and stimulating environment for children to learn through play. I am flexible in my approach to child care and am willing to discuss your individual childcare needs.
I am a proactive and visible minder in my community. I attend local drop-ins and partake in community events and arrange outings with other childminders.
I work with the E.Y.F.S framework, using the guidance with a particular focus on the prime areas of learning, Communication and Language (C.L) Physical Development (P.D) and Personal, Social and Emotional Development (P.S.E.D) I will complete the statutory Two year old check, this is a written summary of the child's progress against the 3 Prime areas of learning. I will inform parents of their child's progress regularly and address any concerns or issues that arise. 'I am more than happy to discuss with parents any questions or queries you may have with regard to childcare needs for your child.
I have cared for many children from different cultures and backgrounds. All families are welcome in my setting and I aim to work with all parents to ensure I meet their individual childcare needs.
