I am an Ofsted approved childminder, I have a DBS check, Paediatric First Aid Certificate.
I have a degree in Early Childhood Studies and also a Diploma in Early Montessori Education. I have a Early Years Primary Teaching Qualification and have previously taught in both state and independent schools.
I have always loved working with children and have done so 20 years and now that I have my own 17 month old daughter I have decided to become a childminder so that I am able to take care of her and other children from home.
Having been a primary school teacher I believe that it is important that children develop their learning through play, therefore I will offer lots of play opportunities to engage in fun and educational activities.
I hope to provide a ‘home from home’ where you can feel relaxed and happy to be leaving your child.
I will offer a kind, caring, stimulating and challenging environment to encourage children’s play but also to enable them to become independent and experience many new things.
All the activities will follow or link to the EYFS for children up to 2 years of age these will be the Prime Areas: Personal Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development and Communication and Language.
I am always happy to phone or text a parent if the child has been unsettled and drop off and let you know that your child is ok, but this will be done at a convenient time.
I will do as much as I can to prepare any children that I have for school, by learning to write their name, have some knowledge of sounds, being able to dress themselves, put on their shoes.
As well as this I will take children to my local play groups which I have attended with my own daughter
I believe it is extremely important that I can have a good relationship with parents so that we can work together to provide a happy environment for your child; any important details such as what toys they like, what time your child sleeps will be taken into account
I live in a small house which is within easy walking distance to both Kensington Gardens and Holland Park.
