Volunteer for Kensington and Chelsea Libraries and Archives

Actions

You can get involved in a variety of ways at Kensington and Chelsea Libraries and Archives. Types of volunteering roles include:

  • Helping with library events - such as homework clubs, under 5s activities and English speaking classes

  • Providing IT support - such as assisting with job searches and helping people set up email accounts

  • Maintaining our spaces and being creative - creating book displays

  • Customer service - checking if books are in stock and locating books for customers

The minimum age to volunteer is 16 years old. However, young people from 14 years old may be offered work experience placements when sponsored through a school or educational establishment, or as part of the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award scheme.

Throughout the summer months, young people aged 14-25 years old are especially welcome as volunteers, to help with the Summer Reading Challenge.
