The Ciné Kids are the Ciné Lumière's family screenings run every week to enjoy French and European cinema in English or in French with English subtitles. 

Screenings are often followed by workshops, activities and events which make the experience memorable for the whole family.

Our family relaxed screenings take place every last Sunday of the month at 1:30pm.

Please note that there is step-free access to the ground floor (foyer/reception) and the first floor (library, salons and Ciné Lumière). No step-free access to Ciné Lumière II on the lower ground floor.

 

Ciné Lumière II is equipped with a wireless audio system that delivers both Hearing Impaired (HI), and Visually Impaired Narration (VI) on compatible films.

Description

The Ciné Kids are family screenings run every week to enjoy French and European cinema with English subtitles in a safe and beautiful listed building. Screenings are often followed by workshops, activities and events which make the experience memorable for the whole family.

We also offer Relaxed Screenings every last Sunday of the month, they are adapted in a variety of ways to help reduce anxiety and over-stimulation and ensure a safe, enjoyable cinema experience for people with autism.

Adjustments include:

  • no trailers or advertisements
  • lights left on low throughout the film
  • reduced volume
  • freedom to move around, make noise and sit where you like
  • you are welcome to take a break and leave the screen whenever you need to
  • a relaxed and welcoming environment where staff are sensitive to the needs of children and teenagers with autism

Who is this service available to?

Our Relaxed Screenings are adapted in a variety of ways to help reduce anxiety and over-stimulation and ensure a safe, enjoyable cinema experience for people with autism, and their families, friends and carers.

When is this service available?

Our Relaxed screenings are available every last Sunday of the month.

How do you access this service?

You can buy your tickets online prior to your visit (advised) or present yourself at our box office. Our friendly team there will be happy to sell you tickets to the screening.

The Relaxed Screenings take place in our Ciné Lumière II, in the basement which is a quieter area of the building.

How do we ensure the quality of this service?

Our ushers and team on site are here to help our customer and make sure they experience a comfortable and enjoyable experience.

What to do if you have a complaint?

We will always try our best to meet with our customers expectations. If for an unfortunate reason the experience is not meeting with the customer expectations, our staff will be happy to discuss in a quiet en courteous manner how to adjust to our best abilities.
