Help with homework

Information on help with homework which is offered at your local Kensington and Chelsea library. 

Whether you visit us after school, at the weekend or during the school holidays, we are happy to help you find the answers to your questions.

Homework support is available at all of our libraries during our opening hours but especially at these times:

Brompton Library

  • Monday to Friday, 3.30 to 5pm

Chelsea Library

  • Tuesday, 5.30 to 6.30pm

Kensal Library

  • Wednesday, 3.30 to 4.30pm
  • Friday, 3.30 to 4.30pm

Kensington Central Library

  • Monday, 3.30 to 5pm
  • Tuesday, 3.30 to 5pm
  • Thursday, 3:30 to 5pm

North Kensington Library

  • Wednesday, 3.30 to 4.30pm
  • Friday, 3.30 to 4.30pm

Notting Hill Gate Library

We are recruiting volunteers to support children who need help with their homework in our libraries.

New resource to help children practise Maths and English

IXL is an online learning experience that provides comprehensive, curriculum-based Maths and English for children in Reception up to Year 13.

The website is designed to keep children engaged with their learning by providing fun awards. It also provides parents/guardians with detailed reports on their children’s progress.

What you will find on IXL:

  • Unlimited unique questions - to make practising engaging
  • Adaptable skill levels - to support and encourage children
  • Fun awards - to keep children motivated
  • Detailed parent reports - so they can stay in the know

Please note parents/guardians will need to sign up at your local Kensington and Chelsea library and you will be provided with passwords and usernames in order to be able access the site.
