The Council recently surveyed local residents about how they use Kensal Library in North Kensington ahead of proposing plans to invite a community provider to operate in the space. The consultation showed residents supported this idea and we’re now exploring the necessary next steps.
The current offer from Kensal Library won’t be reduced or compromised, rather residents will have access to additional resources provided by a community organisation. This is part of the Council’s Social Investment Strategy which challenges us to get as much as we can out of our local spaces and buildings.
We’re now calling for community organisations to contact the Council should they want to discuss the opportunity of partnering with Kensal Library to use the space.
You have until Sunday 11 April to submit your application.
Prospective partners can contact Libraries@rbkc.gov.uk to find out more and be sent an application form. To find out more about our libraries and how they have been affected by Coronavirus, visit www.rbkc.gov.uk/libraries.
