Temporary display of memorial messages at Grenfell - update from the independent site management team

Published: Tuesday 4 June 2019

Thank you for your understanding whilst essential works to the perimeter ‘hoarding’ surrounding the Grenfell site are being carried out. These works will shortly conclude and artworks and tributes will be returned to their original positions.

It has been necessary to replace some of the hoarding around Grenfell Tower, to maintain safety and ensure the site remains secure.

Many of the panels contain heartfelt handwritten memorial messages and have personal significance to members of the public. At the request of the community, a temporary display of these original panels is in position on Lancaster Green until shortly after the second anniversary of the tragedy.

The public display will be removed shortly after the second anniversary, and all of the panels will be kept in safe storage on the site, pending community decisions on their future.
