Kensington and Chelsea residents are warned to be on their guard against scamming emails which claim to offer a council tax refund in an attempt to get their bank details.
The Council is warning residents to delete these emails and call the council tax team on 020 7361 3005 if they have any concerns. The scam came to light after a few residents contacted the Council after receiving emails.
If a resident is due a refund the Council would refund the money directly if it had been paid by direct debit. For residents who do not pay their council tax by direct debit the Council would send them a credit note.
