Decision details

This case has not yet been decided.

Decision: Refuse Planning Permission/Consent
Decision date: 06 Jan 2014
Conditions and reasons:

1)

The proposed addition of a double door opening between the entrance hall and dining room, replacing the existing single door opening would result in the loss of an important historic feature and the introduction of alien features within the listed building failing to preserve or enhance the special architectural or historic interest and significance of the Grade II listed building, contrary to development plan policy, in particular Core Strategy Policy CL4.

2)

The proposed replacement ground floor rear extension, by reason of its size, detailed design and fenestration would be unsympathetic, unduly bulky and overly dominant, harmful to the special architectural and historic interest of the listed building and to the heritage significance of this Grade II listed building, contrary to Core Strategy policy CL4.

3)

The proposed lower ground floor rear extension, by reason of its detailed design and fenestration would be unsympathetic and incongruous and therefore harmful to the special architectural and historic interest of the listed building and to the heritage significance of this Grade II listed building, contrary to Core Strategy policy CL4.

4)

The proposed increase in the size of the existing front dormer, by reason of the detailed design and fenestration would be an incongruous and overly dominant alteration, increasing its prominence, harmful to the special architectural and historic interest of the listed building and to the heritage significance of this Grade II listed building, contrary to Core Strategy policy CL4.
