Decision: TEL - Prior Approval Required - WITHHELD
Decision date: 30 Aug 2011
Conditions and reasons:

1)

The cabinet would be located along the ornamental railings of a garden square close to the western entrance of Royal Crescent at the exposed end of a group of other items of street furniture and would add to visual clutter at a prominent location with open views and because of its size, bulk and unsympathetic appearance would be visually obtrusive in this location and harmful to the streetscape of the area and would result in significant harm to the character and appearance of the Conservation Area contrary to Core Strategy policies CR4 and CL3.

2)

The proposed cabinet, due to its proximity to the root systems of the existing trees in the communal gardens, is likely to result in significant damage to trees of townscape and amenity value to the detriment of the appearance of the area contrary to policy CR6 (b)
