Decision details

This case has not yet been decided.

Decision: Refuse Planning Permission/Consent
Decision date: 05 Jun 2018
Conditions and reasons:

1)

The proposed trellis, because of its height, solidity and prominence in views from surrounding properties would harm the open character of this roofscape and would be unsympathetic to the character of the building and group of buildings. The proposed development would therefore fail to preserve the character or appearance of Kensington Court Conservation Area, contrary to Consolidated Local Plan policies CL1, CL2, CL3, CL9, CL8 and CL11, as well as guidance within Kensington Court Conservation Area Appraisal.

2)

There is insufficient information to satisfactorily demonstrate that the proposed trellis would ensure that good living conditions are maintained for the occupants of no.14 Kensington Court Place, in terms of daylight/sunlight. The proposal is, therefore, contrary to policy CL5 of the Consolidated Local Plan.

Informatives:
