Guided walks to learn how to identify trees using their twigs, an opportunity to find out how bird ringing helps our knowledge of birds’ migratory patterns and a chance to build nest boxes for Holland Park’s birds are some of the activities on offer from Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea’s Ecology Centre during January and February.
The events are all free to attend. The full list, all of which take place on Saturdays, include:
4 February, Friends of Holland Park Nature Walk. Meet outside the Holland Park Café at 9.30am for the hour-long walk.
11 February a Winter Tree Walk: the basics. This includes an introduction to native tree species and runs from 1pm to 3pm. Booking is essential, email email@example.com
18 February Bird Ringing, sponsored by the Friends of Holland Park. Drop-in to the wildlife area between 7am and 11am.
21 January and 18 February Holland Park Conservation Volunteer Workdays, meet outside the Holland Park Café for the sessions which run from 11.30am to 3.30pm.
