Work is due to start on Saturday 1 April on a £1.7 million project to improve wet-side facilities at Chelsea Sports Centre.
The improvements will include a large and better ventilated changing area with: 12 new showers, 30 single changing cubicles as well as two group changing rooms, two accessible changing rooms, three family changing cubicles and a special buggy storage area. The work will also include improved energy efficient lighting, retiling the area around the pool and improvements to the viewing gallery.
While the work, which is expected to be completed by the end of the summer, is underway the swimming pool will be closed.
The essential maintenance work will ensure that the centre's facilities remain fit for purpose for local families, schools and community groups who regularly use it.
