Kensington and Chelsea shows Pride

The rainbow flag of Pride has been raised above the Town Hall as part of the Council’s tradition of showing support for the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community.

LGBT Champion, Cllr Josh Rendall, was joined by the Mayor, Cllr Marie-Therese Rossi, to raise the flag of Pride above the Town Hall today (Friday, July 6) to mark diversity and the beginning of Pride Weekend. They were joined by supporters from the Council’s diversity group.

Holland Park, among a host of other beautiful green outdoor spaces, has a rainbow flag proudly displayed to mark Pride weekend and encourage residents to join the celebrations.

The Mayor, said: “I am delighted to mark Pride weekend today. We have a tremendously diverse borough and city and it is right that we mark that diversity when we can. It is great to see the Council marking Pride this weekend, I think it sends out a message about how things are changing and how much more support is available today.”

The following parks will be flying the Pride flag over the weekend:

• Westfield
• Avondale
• Tavistock Gardens
• Emslie Horniman Pleasance
