Family Services teams at Kensington and Chelsea Council are celebrating recognition of their excellent work following a recent Ofsted inspection.
Amongst the inspectors' findings they noted the ‘clear vision and focus to ensure that children and families received good quality services.’ They were impressed with the ‘timely manner’ cases were dealt with.
Inspectors looked at the arrangements for children who need protection in the Outstanding department and spoke to staff and partner agencies.
The inspector’s findings also highlighted that decision making ‘ensures that children and families receive the right help and support at the right time’ and that ‘social workers know their children and families well’. They also noted that ‘Staff morale in Kensington and Chelsea is high’ and ‘Staff report a good level of supervision and support’.
Welcoming the report, Councillor Emma Will, Kensington and Chelsea’s Lead Member for Families, Children and Schools, said: “I am delighted that the hard work and dedication of our staff has been recognised. They provide a very high level of help to children and families that are in real need and can provide life changing support to them.”
In Ofsted’s last assessment of Kensington and Chelsea’s Family Services they were rated Outstanding, achieving the highest mark of any service in the country at that time.
