Royal Borough voluntary organisations honoured by The Queen

13 June 2017

Three Royal Borough voluntary organisations have been selected to receive The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service 2017 – the highest accolade for volunteer groups.

The three organisations honoured were:

  • Dalgarno Neighbourhood Trust - enabling people from diverse backgrounds to fulfil their potential and break the cycle of poverty, ill-health and deprivation
  • Migrants Organise Ltd - welcoming refugees and migrants and helping their meaningful integration
  • The Kensington and Chelsea Forum for Older Residents - assisting the elderly vulnerable residents of the borough to help reduce social isolation.

The Queen's Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to local volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work done in their own communities. It was created in 2002 to celebrate the anniversary of The Queen's coronation.
