Four pupils of St Mary Abbots School have been congratulated for their quick thinking after helping a member of the public who was knocked off their bike.
The pupils David (ten years), Gabriel, Felix and Arthur (each 11 years) witnessed an incident where a cyclist was knocked off their bike near the 52 bus stop on Kensington Church Street on Friday 10 March.
Three members of the public who witnessed the incident came into the school office on Friday evening to compliment the boys on their actions.
Headteacher, Mrs Nicola Doyle, said: “The boys demonstrated quick thinking and calmness under pressure in a challenging situation. The members of the public told us the boys took control of the situation, called an ambulance straight away, explained the person’s condition and waited until an adult took charge.
“Though emergency services are not able to refer to the individual patient, the pupils are to be commended for their maturity and doing the right thing to help. We join the pupils in wishing the person a speedy recovery.”
