Council officers were on the streets of Notting Hill late into the night last week to record incidents of antisocial behaviour such as street drinking, begging and rough sleeping. The exercise gave officers a night time view of what was going on, long after most people are at home and in bed. Indeed they were able to find and return three bottles of whisky which had been stolen from Tesco. The area has experienced problems associated with street drinking, begging and other antisocial behaviour which has caused concern to local residents.Councillor Barbara Campbell, who accompanied the officers, said: "This was a great opportunity to get a perspective of the problems which surface late at night. We will continue to work with the Metropolitan Police to ensure everything is done to curb any behaviour which causes our residents undue stress."
