Visits are available all year round but please book early for the summer term as it is often fully booked.

Nature Explorers
  • Explore the park’s woodland with a nature walk making sticky cards, sensory games and a hunt for minibeasts. 
Science
Tree Trolls
  • A creative craft session where the class will create  their own fantasy woodland creatures from natural materials found in the park.
Cross-curricular
Minibeasts
  • Learn about the range of creatures that can be termed minibeasts before discovering the minibeasts that live in the woods. The session ends with a chance to touch or hold the centre’s exotic minibeasts.

I Spy
  • Using the centre’s stuffed and live collection, the class will learn how to sort creatures into groups before heading out into the park to find more.

Autumn Watch
  • Autumn leaves and fruits are the main focus of this workshop. The class will learn about how the park changes in this season and search the woods for different signs of autumn (Autumn term only).

Winter Watch
  • This workshop focuses on plant and animal adaptations for surviving the winter. The children will make an animal home for hibernation in the wildlife area. Toy animals can come and explore and hide in the homes.

Spring Watch
  • The class will explore the park spotting signs of spring. In the wildlife area the children will make nests using sticks, leaves and clay.

Summer Watch
  • Summer is an ideal time to identify flowers and flying insects. This workshop will focus on spotting signs of summer around the park. In the woods the children will make their own flying dragonfly out of clay.
