Housing Sustainability Survey

Thank you for taking part in the Housing Sustainability Survey. Your opinions are important and will inform the work shaping the Sustainability and Fuel Poverty Strategy for the Housing Management Department of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea. The answers to this survey will help us make recommendations for how we can support, empower and work together with residents to tackle issues around environmental sustainability in our housing stock. We also encourage your  feedback on the draft of the Housing Strategy, which you can read here. Question 11 of this survey provides a dedicated space for comments.

Please note the Council is developing a corporate strategy to meet its Net Zero Carbon commitments, and there will be a borough-wide survey in relation to this, as well as consultation on COVID-19 recovery plans. Housing Management will feed into the corporate strategy. This present survey is therefore focused on issues linked specifically to Housing Management and the approach the department takes with regard to sustainability.

The closing date for responses is Friday 16th October 2020.

I feel empowered to take action in my local area
Q5 To what extent do you agree or disagree that the following should lead by example by implementing bold actions  to help address the climate emergency?

Q6 The Council has adopted two carbon reduction targets: for the borough to be net zero carbon by 2040, and to be net zero carbon as an organisation by 2030. The Council therefore aims to reduce the carbon emissions from its own operations, activities and buildings (including the Council Housing Stock). To achieve this, Housing Management is playing a key role and is developing a Sustainability and Fuel Poverty Strategy to address climate change and environmental sustainability in our estates. The draft strategy, linked above, is in progress, and will be reviewed in line with consultation, as well as the Council’s Carbon Neutral Action Plan and the Council’s COVID-19 recovery plans.

As Housing Management develop their strategy, what should they be prioritising to address the climate emergency and make your local areas and estates greener? (Please select all that apply and add any suggestions under “other”)
