High Street Kensington Covid-19 Recovery Survey

This survey is to help us find out more about how businesses along Kensington High Street have been impacted by Covid-19. We are looking to understand how office and retail use of space may change, and how this may feed into the longer term interventions for the recovery of the street. We are also keen to hear what improvements to the high street businesses feel would help its short- term recovery and develop long term resilience. This survey should be completed by Friday 4 December 2020.

Social value lease

The Council is exploring whether there is uptake to implement social value lease structures for buildings that are no longer operating at full capacity, or that are expected to become vacant. The lease allows for additional value to be created by allowing the delivery of a service which has a wider community or public benefit. The Council would take over the running of the unit with the aim to support and facilitate meanwhile uses. A successful example of this has been International House in Brixton where a vacant office block now provides affordable co-work space for new and growing businesses, as well as social enterprises and charities,
Would you be interested in running a business in a social value lease structure?
