View of the Physic Garden circa 1910
Sir Hans Sloane statute dominates the Physic Garden. The siting of Sloane's statue is most appropriate as it was his gift to the Apothecary Society that ensured its survival. It was placed here in 1737. Today the original statute, by Rysbrach, is kept at the British Museum. An exact replica was cast and given to the Garden. In front the first rock garden built in England can be seen.
