Peter Jones in Sloane Square, photographed in 1960s by John Bignell.
The celebrated curtain wall building of Peter Jones, the famous Sloane Square department store, was enthusiastically received by residents and critics alike. It was designed by William Crabtree in steel and glass, which gave "the impression of lucidity and taste." Peter Jones has recently been restored externally and remodelled inside.
