The Royal Borough is home to a wide range of interesting on and off-street film locations, attracting a high level of location filming throughout the year.
The Film Office has close working relationships with residents' groups, the police, key officers from other Council departments, Councillors, Film London and other outside agencies.
Our aim is to ensure that all filming activities are carried out safely, and with minimum disruption to our residents. We aim to achieve this by:
If you wish to film in the Royal Borough you will need to complete and return the Council’s form "Application to Film in London" along with a copy of your public liability insurance cover. Returning the application form also signifies that the Filming Code of Practice has been read and will be adhered to.
Please note the Council requires one full week's written notice together with exact wording of dashboard notice and relevant pay and display machine number(s) in order to arrange parking suspensions for technical vehicles.
In normal circumstances the Council will require advance payment for all parking suspensions and any other parking arrangements made by the Council to facilitate film shoots.
The Film Office will charge a parking handling fee of £65.00 for each parking request which exceeds four car spaces. This charge will be payable for each separate location used
Once your shoot is confirmed - and if it is all or part on-street - you should contact the local Police (phone 020 8246 0612) to outline the details of where you will be and when.
The Film Office will charge an administration fee at an hourly-rate (currently £65.00 plus VAT) to cover officer time, general advice, office costs, liaison with other Council officers, and so on.
Please note: The Council does require production companies filming on-street to undertake a full and meaningful risk assessment in advance of all shoots as any failure to do so may well invalidate insurance cover.
