Council launches new transport and streetscape policies

27 February 2008

The ‘Transport and Streetscape Policies’ covers a range of principles the Council is using to improve road safety, to reduce the environmental impact of cars and improve the design of the borough's roads and pavements.

The streets of Kensington and Chelsea are undergoing a revolution in design - a process the we are calling "Streetscape".

We have identified 17 main roads and shopping streets for potential streetscape improvements. Before we decide which streets to tackle first, we would like your views.

Now it is your chance to tell the us which streets you would like to see improved. Go to the Streetscape: Less is more - but where next?

About Streetscape

One of the Council's main aims is that the Royal Borough should remain an attractive place for those who live and work here and for visitors. We are fortunate to be guardians of an outstanding public realm and we intend to care for and enhance it for future generations. We believe that the street environment plays an extremely important role in the overall success of an area.
