Cabinet Portfolios

The Cabinet is made up of ten senior Majority Party (Conservative) councillors, including the Leader. Each Cabinet Member is responsible for a portfolio.

The Leader and his Cabinet are the focus for policy-making and decision taking. Decisions are taken by individual Cabinet Members in many cases and in full Cabinet for major policy matters. In addition, there are a number of Cabinet Advisory Groups and Working Groups that help improve decision making and assist in the development of policies. Download and print details about the Cabinet Advisory Groups and Working Groups [PDF file] (File size 8.5 Kb).

Members of the public are welcome to attend these meetings, unless any confidential matters are being discussed, and can speak with the prior agreement of the Chairman.
