Cabinet Portfolio - Family and Children's Services

Cllr Shireen Ritchie is the 'lead member for children's services' as designated under the Children Act of 2004. This includes responsibility for the Council's role as 'corporate parent', fostering and adoption services, unaccompanied asylum seeking children, the development of Children's Centres, youth justice matters, sports activities for young people, the Council's relationship with 'Connexions' service and setting the overall direction for funding of and support to schools (although these are delegated to the Cabinet Member for Education and Libraries.)

Cllr Mrs Elizabeth Campbell is lead member supporting Cllr Ritchie.
